IMMUNE PLUS
Diseases are a major constraint to the sustainable development of shrimp aquaculture. Its generally perceived that disease out breaks in aquaculture systems are closely linked to environmental deterioration, inadequate on farm quality inferior nutrition, high stocking densities and associated stresses on animals in culture. In this light much emphasis has been laid on species selection, adaptation, rearing, feeding, harvesting etc., but little thought has been given to the condition of the animal. The profile of shrimp culture has shifted from extensive to semi intensive farming and in such systems the animals are under constant stress. The physico-chemical parameters of water are dynamic and often change abruptly due to various natural processes. Viral infections, bacterial outbreaks, ammonia, nitrites, H2S, DO depletion etc., have direct influence on the physiology of the prawns. The unique anti-stress properties of IMMUNE PLUS will help the animal to overcome stress associated with the culture. Haemocytes which are supposed to be analogues of white blood cells exist in crustaceans and are grouped into granular, semi granular and hyaline cells. Upon activation by 1,3 B glucans the zymogen proPO is activated through cleavage to Phenoloxidase which inturn oxidizes tyrosinase to quinolone which polymerize non enzymatically and form insoluble melanin pigments.
It helps to stabilize the integrity of cell membrane, macro-molecular structures, energy transduction capacity of enzymes, integrity of haepatopancreas, mobilizes fat and enhances nutrient utilization. It confers temperature tolerance by preventing aggregation and by maintaining the solubility of cellular proteins and helps in restoring osmotic turgor pressure when environmental salinities increase. It offsets deleterious effect of urea which is an end product of protein metabolism. The animals under stress need additional doses of essential sulphated amino acids and vitamins along with anti-stress factors to tide over tough times.
