ODOCLEAR-A40

Aquatic animals perform all their bodily functions in water hence to a great extent the quality of water determines the success or failure of aquaculture operations. Ammonia reaches the pond water as a by-product of metabolism by animals and by decomposition of organic matter by bacteria. The toxicity of ammonia nitrogen is attributed mainly to unionized form. As the concentration in water increases ammonia excretion by aquatic organism diminishes and levels of ammonia in blood other tissues increases. The result is an elevation in blood pH and adverse effects on enzyme catalyzed reactions and membrane stability. Ammonia increases oxygen consumption by tissues, damages gills and reduces the ability of blood to transport oxygen. Disease susceptibility also increases in organisms exposed to sub-lethal concentration of ammonia. The focus of aquaculture operations has shifted more towards semi-intensive types and hence it has become imperative to effectively counteract the problems of ammonia and maintain water quality for successful operations.

COMPOSITION :

Concentrated processed extract of Yucca 40%, urease inhibitors, verxite grannules, probiotics and enzymes. The main component of ODOCLEAR-A40 is the steroidal saponin from Yucca schidigera which helps to reduce ammonia levels and other noxious compounds such as hydrogen sulphide. Microbial urease production is limited which leads to an increase in DO and reduction of BOD and COD levels.

MODE OF ACTION :

This all natural extract product has the inherent ability to absorb ammonia and also inhibit the urease enzyme which is essential in converting urea to ammonia. This steroidal saponin compound also contains surfactants to allow for better nutrient utilization by the bacteria that digest the waste meterial in pond bottoms. ODOCLEAR-A40 research has consistently reported reductions in the levels of nitrogenous compounds such as ammonia. It has this effect in the digestive tract of the shrimp as well as in the pond. The reduction in intestinal ammonia slows down tissue turnover in the gut and allows for better nutrient utilization by the shrimp
